Initial thoughts on the iPad
I’m not a professional blogger, so I’ll keep this brief. I like the iPad (not the name though), but not enough to buy one. Here’s why: Where’s my multi-tasking? I hope someone builds a Twitter client / Facebook client / web browser all-in-one app. I want to see all of those things at the same time! I want to be able to tile their windows with my email window as well. I want to be able to listen to TWIT Live while doing other things. Why can’t I search within a webpage? This is an issue for me with mobile Safari on any device by the way. When a large webpage loads with lots of text and I want to find text within that page, I have to scroll around instead of searching for the desired string and jumping to the right spot. That’s annoying. The video demoing the iPad looks like an Onion parody of an Apple video. “The best web browsing experience ever! Like OMG!” Ok, that’s not what they said, but come on, they might as well have hired a bunch of cheer leaders for the video.
